Testimonials

"Miranda is a great instructor. Her classes are fun. She pays individual attention to all her students and helps if they need it. Before her class, yoga was daunting for me and I never had fun. That has all changed with Miranda. It didn’t take long to realize how lucky I am to find such a wonderful yoga resource here in the tri-cities. I can’t recommend Miranda highly enough!"

-LYNNE P., YOGA PRACTITIONER

"After several torn tendons and surgeries I could no longer do yoga in a group setting or at all I thought! I missed it so much I had given up hope! After two years of private sessions at my home I can now kneel, do my shoulder exercises where I can put my arms behind my head! And finally do Child’s pose again! It took two years of practice but it was worth every moment! I cannot thank Miranda enough for bringing my life back to normal again! Bringing happiness and peace into my weekends with our practice!"

-TINA M., YOGA PRACTITIONER

"I’ve been taking yoga class from Miranda for a little over a year and I love her!!! She is easy to follow and explains what the poses do for your body and muscles. She makes the class relaxed and she’s always full of positive vibes! I finish her classes happy, relaxed and looking forward to the next class. I highly recommend Miranda’s classes to everyone."

A little about Me

I am here in hopes that I can encourage you to love yourself a little bit more and find your Flexible Happiness because true happiness comes when we learn to flex both our body and our mind.

Yoga taught me that I AM ENOUGH and I hope to share that empowering feeling with others through my teachings. When I found yoga, I was in a very deep-dark place of hating myself and my body so much that I willingly was active again in my eating disorder, Bulimia, a bonus I gained from weight loss surgery. Many foods would easily get stuck, and I would have to throw them back up to alleviate an excruciating pain. This didn’t stop me from eating, I still ate, just kept myself close to a restroom to be able to purge multiple times a meal – even when eating out with my family I would ask to be seated near a restroom. I felt that I had to suffer through the pain to be able to lose the weight because that is what I deserved. Through all this, I lost 80 pounds after I first had my surgery and then I lessened the restriction of my upper stomach because I was tired of being in constant pain and missed eating without vomiting every time, and what do ya know…the weight piled back on, and a few extra bonus pounds joined too. I felt like the worst of worst of failures and a complete loser, because how the hell did I fail weight loss surgery?!?! I got extremely depressed, didn’t feel worthy of life because I have struggled with my weight forever, like literally my whole life, I remember conversations about it back in kindergarten and I have tried every diet along the way and failed those too…I even got to a point where my defense mechanism was to make fun of my fatness before anyone else had a chance so I felt like I had control because you can’t say anything to me that I haven’t already said to myself.

I am so grateful I found Yoga during the harshest self-hatred of my life because it softened my heart, introduced me to my breath and showed me a love I had never experienced before, a SELF-LOVE. My yoga journey started out purely physical, however while consistently practicing my curiosity was peaked when I started to gain flexibility feeling my body slide into poses, I NEVER thought I possible, feeling my breath and body work together, woah-that is a powerful feeling! My yoga practice had me questioning what other things in my life that I had been holding myself back from, telling myself I couldn’t do all these years.

My passion is to offer classes to EveryBODY, encouraging people of all shapes and sizes an opportunity to access a yoga practice. In my classes I will create a welcoming and safe space for clients to feel worthy of healing and encouraging their belief they are enough just as they are and that they are deserving of a happy life. Society leads us to believe otherwise, and I hope to encourage my students to see a more positive perspective and realize how much control they truly have over their life when opening to the messages of the universe and expressing gratitude for their own journey, versus allowing life to just happen to them.

My heart loudly calls me to teach beginner, chair, yin and some restorative yoga classes, and offer workshops to my clients to guide them through offerings with encouragement to meet their bodies where they are at, promoting the use of props paired with proper alignment while offering the opportunity to release any ego stemming from insecurities little by little and settle more into themselves. My classes will be my client’s opportunity to slowdown from their busy day-to-day, encouraging stillness within movements and connection to their breath.

When clients come to my classes I want to give them a chance to connect with that tingling magic within themselves when their body and breath work together to release and create space. The main foundation in each of my classes will be breath awareness, showing my students that their breath is truly powerful despite how automatic it is. I want to encourage awareness that their breath is what controls their life and if they can learn to become mindful of and control their breath, they can learn to control their life. I offer students tips and tricks of how to incorporate these skills into everyday situations.

I hope to encourage clients through my class teachings to spark their curiosity to want to discover new ways to step out of their comfort zone and step more into their unique power while centering deeper into their self-love.

I will continually create a space full of self-love and body positivity for all who come because I know how it feels to be extremely uncomfortable in my own skin and I also know how it feels to fall in love within that same skin and that shift is truly some powerful shit. I genuinely hope I can share this with my clients. Yoga taught me that my body believes what my mind thinks and what my mouth speaks and if I want to change my life, I must adjust my perspectives on life. I now celebrate my body with patience, gratitude, and love. Gaining weight isn’t a trigger for me like it used to be, now if I notice changes within my body, I seek out in meditation what has been going on for my body to feel like I needed additional protection.

This tool has been life-changing because I no longer feel the need to resort to previous eating disorder tendencies. Yoga truly gave me my life! I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to be a part of any of my students’ yoga journeys, it truly is an honor to hold space for clients to share this amazing practice and being witness to their growth.

Frequently asked questions

Yoga is an ancient practice that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. The main components of yoga are postures (a series of movements designed to increase strength and flexibility) and breathing. The practice of Yoga is growing as there are many different styles of yoga available so EveryBODY can find the style that they love while enjoying benefits they gain in their lives.

Practicing yoga has many physical benefits: it creates a flexible, toned and strong body and improves breathing, energy and metabolism. Yoga improves circulatory and cardiac health, as well as fitness levels, pain and posture. It also has benefits for your mental health, making you happier, more balanced and emotionally calmer. It helps you relax so you can handle stress better. Yoga encourages self-confidence and helps you to focus your energy.

The spiritual benefits of yoga are also key: Yoga teaches you to be aware of what is going on inside and outside of you. Yoga teaches you to be present in your surroundings and open to what is all around – in other words, more mindful.

You will feel some benefits immediately, such as the release of physical tension, the body opening and muscles strengthening – the “feel good” factor that keeps people hooked on yoga. Other benefits depend on how much you practice and every person is different. But most people will feel a positive change after a few weeks, if not before.

YES!! You are a perfect candidate for yoga. Yoga meets you and your body exactly where you're at each time you come to your practice. Yoga is one of the best things you can do to improve your strength and flexibility. The less flexible you are the more you need yoga! You will build strength and flexibility each time you practice.

Yes, Yoga truly is for EveryBODY and there isn't a required level of fitness to be able to participate. Yoga has a way of helping you gain a sense of strength, coordination, physical confidence and overall well-being. Come as you are!!

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered through the hands and is based on the idea that life force energy flows through us and that is what causes us to be alive. If ones "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made up of two Japanese words - Rei which means "Spiritual Wisdom: and Ki which means "life force energy." So Reiki is "spiritually guided life force energy."

A Reiki treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.

They are different: In massage therapy, the practitioner manipulates the patient, whereas in Reiki, the healer barely touches the patient, in a non-invasive and non-manipulative session.
